The geometry of rough, textured, fractured, and porous media is topologically complicated. Such are commonly modeled as bundles capillary tubes. However, angle-containing geometries can serve a more realistic portrayal their internal structure. A basic element inherent to all these an open wedge-like channel. classical theory capillarity ignoring intermolecular interactions implies that liquid entering wedge must propagate indefinitely along its spine when the liquid–gas interface concave. This well known Concus–Finn condition. In present paper, we show steady-state rivulets be formed in such channels surface forces taken into account. We simple model based on disjoining pressure approach analyze shape wedges. also consider case walls soft deformed by liquid.
